HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (March 6, 2011) – The annual Daytona Supercross is always interesting. The track is built on the infield at Daytona International Speedway with lap times approximately 20 seconds longer than the typical stadium layouts. The event offers hybrid elements of both supercross and motocross with the course always one of the most demanding on the circuit. For the third consecutive week SPEED broadcast the action live.
Justin Brayton and Davi Millsaps transferred directly to the main event from heat race two without mishap. Millsaps started the main in fourth position with Brayton in ninth. By the sixth lap Millsaps was in second with Brayton seventh. Brayton would advance to sixth on the seventh lap, and remain in sixth to the checkers. Millsaps held a podium position until the halfway mark (lap 10), after which he was relegated to fifth at the finish.
SPEED will again air the next round of the AMA Supercross Championship Series live. Lucas Oil Stadium will host round 10 of the series in Indianapolis, Ind. on March 12, the broadcast will begin at 7:30 p.m. (EST).
